CLINICAL PRACTICE POLICIES, CONSENT AND FEE STRUCTURE
Anthony Ojukwu, mNACP
Licensed Clinical Psychologist
1. Nature of Practice
This service is an independent private clinical psychology practice providing clinical psychological consultation, psychological assessment, and psychotherapy. Services are delivered primarily through telepsychology (online/virtual care), unless otherwise explicitly stated. This model is adopted to ensure accessibility across geographic locations while maintaining ethical, professional, and clinical standards.
2. Population Served (Age and Client Type)
This practice is currently dedicated exclusively to working with adults (18 years and older). Services are provided primarily to individual clients. Couples or relational therapy constitutes a distinct clinical service and is subject to a separate assessment process, session structure, and fee schedule. Individual therapy fees do not apply to couples or multi-person sessions. If you are under 18 or seeking services for a minor, I recommend consulting a specialist in child and adolescent psychology.
3. Fee Determination
Fees are determined by the client’s current country of residence and earning environment, regardless of nationality or citizenship. This decision reflects differences in healthcare market standards, regulatory obligations, professional liability, and the sustainability of ethical clinical practice.

Note: Where a minor is present, sessions are conducted as parent-focused or family-system consultations and do not constitute individual therapy for the child unless explicitly agreed upon. Referral to a child and adolescent specialist may be recommended where appropriate.
7. Extended and Multi-Person Sessions (Custom Services)
Certain clinical situations may require extended session durations or the involvement of multiple participants beyond standard individual, couples, or family therapy formats. These may include, but are not limited to:
Extended clinical consultations (beyond standard session time)
Multi-party discussions involving additional family members or stakeholders
Complex case consultations requiring additional time for assessment and formulation
Such services are not covered under standard session fees and are priced on a case-by-case basis, depending on duration, number of participants, and clinical complexity. Fees for extended or multi-person sessions will be clearly communicated and agreed upon prior to scheduling.
8. In-Person Consultations (Restricted Service)
This practice operates primarily as a telepsychology service. In-person consultations are not a standard offering and are provided only under limited circumstances where clinically indicated and appropriate. In-person sessions are subject to the following conditions:
Availability, location, and scheduling feasibility
Clinical appropriateness of in-person engagement
Safety, privacy, and environmental considerations
Client agreement to the structure and boundaries of the session
All in-person consultations are billed at a significantly higher rate than virtual sessions due to the additional time, logistics, and professional demands involved, including travel and opportunity cost. Fees for in-person services are quoted on a case-by-case basis following an initial consultation. As a general guide, individual in-person sessions typically begin at ₦200,000, depending on complexity, duration, and location. This fee is all-inclusive and covers session time, travel, and associated logistical considerations. Separate transportation arrangements are not required. The practice reserves the right to decline or discontinue in-person services where conditions are deemed unsuitable for safe, effective, or ethical clinical work.
9. Neuropsychological and Psychological Assessments
Consultation and therapy fees do not include psychological or neuropsychological testing. Formal assessments are independent clinical services. Fees depend on the required test battery, time involved, scoring, interpretation, and report writing, and are quoted after the initial consultation.
10. Booking and Payment Confirmation
Due to limited appointment availability, all sessions require payment within 24 hours of booking. When a session is selected via the booking portal, the slot is held provisionally. To confirm the appointment, proof of payment must be submitted within the stated timeframe. If payment is not received within 24 hours of booking, the appointment is automatically released to another client. You must email proof of payment to anthojukwu@gmail.com within 24 hours of booking the session, or your slot will be auto-cancelled.

11. Cancellations and Rescheduling
I recognise that life can be unpredictable. If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please provide at least 48 hours’ notice, and the session will be rescheduled without penalty.
Cancellations or rescheduling requests made with less than 48 hours’ notice, or failure to attend a scheduled session (no-show), will result in the full session fee being charged.
A maximum of two (2) reschedules per calendar month is permitted at no additional cost.
Any further rescheduling within the same month will incur a 30% administrative rescheduling fee of the session cost.
These policies exist because session times are reserved exclusively and cannot usually be reassigned on short notice.
12. Session Format and Technical Requirements
All sessions are conducted virtually via Google Meet. Clients are required to:
Attend sessions from a private, quiet location
Ensure a stable internet connection
Use a device with functional audio and video
Failure to meet these requirements may compromise confidentiality or clinical effectiveness and may result in the session being ended without refund.
13. Punctuality and Attendance
If you anticipate being late, please notify me as soon as possible. I will wait 15 minutes from the scheduled start time.
If you do not join the session within 15 minutes, the session will be marked as a no-show, and the full fee will apply.
Sessions will end at the scheduled time regardless of late arrival, to respect subsequent appointments.
14. Initial Clinical Consultation and Ongoing Care
All new clients begin with an Initial Clinical Consultation (60 minutes). This session allows for comprehensive history-taking, clinical formulation, and determination of treatment suitability. You are under no obligation to continue after the initial consultation. If we proceed with therapy, we may agree on a consistent weekly appointment. Regular attendance is essential for therapeutic progress. If sessions are missed for more than two consecutive weeks or cancellations are frequent, the practice reserves the right to release the recurring slot. Where clinically indicated, and as part of my duty of care, I may recommend referral to another clinician with a more appropriate specialisation.
15. Telepsychology, Risk, and Emergency Policy
This practice provides non-emergency psychological services. Telepsychology is not a substitute for emergency or crisis intervention. By engaging in services, clients acknowledge that:
I do not provide emergency services or 24-hour crisis support.
In cases of immediate risk to self or others, clients are responsible for contacting local emergency services or crisis resources in their country of residence.
Clients may be required to provide an emergency contact person prior to or during treatment.
If, in my professional judgement, there is a credible risk of harm, I reserve the right to take appropriate protective action, including contacting emergency services or designated contacts.
16. Confidentiality and Its Limits
All clinical information shared is treated as confidential. However, confidentiality has legally and ethically recognised limits, including but not limited to:
Risk of serious harm to the client or others
Suspected abuse or neglect of a vulnerable person
Legal or court-mandated disclosures
Professional supervision or consultation (with identifying details minimised)
These exceptions exist to ensure safety and comply with ethical and legal obligations.
17. Data Protection and Digital Privacy
Reasonable measures are taken to protect client data and confidentiality. Sessions are conducted via third-party digital platforms, which may carry inherent security risks beyond the clinician’s control. Clients acknowledge that:
Absolute confidentiality cannot be guaranteed in digital communication
They are responsible for ensuring privacy on their end of the connection
Records are stored securely in line with applicable professional and data protection standards
18. Jurisdiction, Licensure, and Scope of Practice
I am licensed as a Clinical Psychologist under Nigerian professional and ethical standards and practise in accordance with the Nigerian Association of Clinical Psychologists (NACP) Code of Ethics. Services are provided in accordance with Nigerian jurisdictional standards. I do not provide medico-legal opinions, forensic evaluations, or court reports outside this jurisdiction unless explicitly agreed upon in writing. I reserve the right to decline or terminate services if local regulations, ethical considerations, or scope-of-practice limitations arise.
19. Practice Escalation and Termination Policy
This practice reserves the right to pause, modify, or terminate services where:
There is persistent non-compliance with policies
Fees are repeatedly unpaid or disputed
Therapeutic boundaries are violated
The client’s needs exceed the scope of this practice
Where appropriate, referrals to alternative providers will be offered.
20. Payment Methods
Nigeria: Direct bank transfer
International: Wise, LemFi, or Stripe
Appointments are not confirmed until payment is received.
21. Client Integrity
